Summer Boosters
An opportunity to avoid learning loss that often takes place throughout the long summer holidays with a week of one hour holiday sessions with a qualified, specialist teacher. Keep on top of your English, Maths or 11+ exam preparation with a week of boosters including homework and daily feedback from the teacher on how your child is progressing. Our boosters are 5 lessons for the price of 4!
At Key Tuition Derby, our school holiday workshops combine learning, creativity and confidence-building in a relaxed, enjoyable environment. Led by experienced professionals and qualified teachers, our workshops help children build skills in maths, English and beyond, all while making friends and having fun during the school holidays. Workshops run during the summer break.
Digital Art Workshops
This fun two-hour digital art workshop will focus on teaching children how to use a variety of digital art tools and techniques to create individual artwork. There will be the opportunity to experiment, be creative, create and print.
Creative Writing Workshops
Budding writers, get ready to write this summer! Learn how to put together the essential components of an amazing story: genre, character, setting, plot and conflict. You’ll get the tools to bring your own story to the page with help from fellow budding writers, and an experienced tutor.
Coding Workshops
Discover the magic of coding this summer! Learn to design and debug algorithms while creating your own magical games, animations, and adventures in Scratch.
From casting spells and brewing potions to exploring enchanted forests and meeting mythical creatures, every day is a new coding quest.
Suitable for KS2/KS3 pupils of all abilities—no previous coding experience is required. Bring your imagination and become a coding wizard!

FAQ for Parents
What ages are the workshops and boosters suitable for?
Our workshops are designed for children in KS1 – KS3. However, our Creative Writing is for KS3 only. Please check the individual workshop description for age guidance.
Our boosters are suitable for all primary and secondary aged students.
How long are the workshops and boosters?
Most workshops run for approximately 3 hours, although some may be shorter, around 2 hours. Please check the booking page for the duration of each workshop.
Boosters run for 1 hour at the same time every day, Monday to Friday for one week.
How do I book a workshop or booster?
Booking is easy. Simply complete the form above. Select all the workshops and boosters you want for your child. Click ‘Add another child’ for sibling bookings. Click continue to registration. Payment can be made by debit/credit card or childcare vouchers.
Do I need to be a Key Tuition student to book a workshop or summer booster?
No. Our holiday workshops and summer boosters are open to everyone. Your child does not need to be a current Key Tuition student to attend. We warmly welcome both Key Tuition students and children from the wider community.
Do I need to stay during the workshop or booster?
No, this is your chance for some well-deserved “me time”. Simply drop your child off and leave the rest to us. Our workshops and boosters are fully supervised by experienced professionals and qualified teachers, so you can enjoy a few child-free hours while your child learns, creates, explores and has fun. Just don’t forget to come back and collect them when the workshop or booster finishes.
Do children need to bring anything with them?
Any materials needed for the workshop or boosters will be provided. If there is anything specific your child needs to bring, this will be clearly stated on the booking page.
Please note that in order to receive a refund upon cancellation of a workshop/booster or to change dates, you must notify Key Tuition Derby no less than 7 days before your workshop/booster is scheduled to take place.
