Free Primary Assessment
What’s included in the free assessment?
Don’t be put off by the word ‘assessment’ Really it’s an opportunity for one of our lovely qualified primary teachers to meet you and your child and to discuss any concerns that you may have regarding your child’s progress in school.
If it’s appropriate and your child is comfortable in doing so, then the teacher will carry out informal assessment activities which will give us specific information about initial areas to focus on when planning your child’s unique tuition plan.
The assessment time also gives you and your child the opportunity to have a look around the centre and put your child at ease- they love it when they realise we are not like school! We will also be able to answer any questions that you might have.

What happens after the assessment?
- Most of the times, the assessment simply confirms the concerns that the parents already suspected. In this case parents decide immediately to proceed with tuition and it’s then a matter of discussing a suitable time during the week and arranging a starting date.
- Some parents choose to have a think about the outcomes and they usually call back after a couple of days to let us know whether they have decided to proceed with tuition or not.
- Sometimes, the assessment acts as a reassurance to parents that their concerns were not so serious after all and they decide to continue to help their child themselves.
The first assessment is free, however, we do still have to pay for our teacher to be available for the assessment. We therefore ask that if you cannot attend you let us know at least 24 hours prior to the assessment. We may charge a non-refundable deposit of 1 lesson fee to reschedule your cancelled/missed assessment. If you attend the rescheduled assessment and enrol this will cover your lesson deposit. If you cancel, do not show up or reschedule for the 2nd assessment, you will not receive a refund.
